Interview with Mr. Saad Kurdi
Fundraising Executive

1. Why did you choose or what path led you to CCCL?
I always wanted to work at a charitable association, but due to peer pressure I tried working in the corporate sector before joining CCCL and it took me less than 2 years to realize that I don’t belong to a career doesn’t revolve around charity. A simple thought of wanting to help sick children get access to free treatment was enough reason for me to apply almost 6 years ago.

2. After few years, describe one of the best moments that you had at the center?
Patients celebrating their last chemo has always given me the best feeling, happiness. I’m glad to be at a place where this moment happens so frequently, so I would say that I am fortunate enough to have this one best moment on replay throughout the year.

3. If you could change one aspect of your job, what would it be and why?
I wish we had more access to funds and resources so that we can treat more children, and it’s what all the team at CCCL is working towards achieving.

4. Why do you continue to work at the CCCL?
The world we live in is a tough place, not everyone has the privilege of affording excellent healthcare and not everyone has access to basic human needs. Being at CCCL means being able to help little kids have access to free and excellent treatment; this is why I continue to work at the CCCL.

5. What is the most rewarding part of being a CCCL team member?
All the above mentioned answers in addition to being part of an organization where I can meet courageous children and their strong families, generous people who want to help regardless, dedicated staff members and volunteers.

6. If you would like to write one sentence about the center, what would it be?
CCCL is everyone that is being treated and their families, it’s everyone taking care of the treatment and everyone making this treatment free of charge, CCCL is the donors who give to help and the people who support us with whatever they can support with; this is why CCCL is not just a medical center, CCCL is a center of excellence and a Home of Hope.
