0 Dr. Hassan El Solh

Dr. Hassan El Solh was appointed as Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon effective March 1, 2012. Dr. El Solh graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine from AUB in 1980, after which he completed his residency training in Pediatrics at AUBMC (1980-1983), followed by two years of residency in Pediatrics at the University of Western Ontario, Canada (1983-1984 and 1986-1987), two years of fellowship in Pediatric Hematology Oncology at the University of Toronto, The Hospital of Sick Children (1984-1986), and one year of Clinical Fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center at University of Washington (1987-1988). Dr. El Solh is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology Oncology, and by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Dr. El Solh was appointed as Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto (1988-1992), and as Associate Professor at AUB (August 1996 - February 1997), and as Professor at Al Faisal University, KSA in 1997.

Over the years, Dr. El Solh has an illustrious career in Pediatric Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplantation and has assumed numerous appointments and responsibilities. He has served as Associate Director, Bone Marrow Transplant Program and Director of Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada (1988-1992), Deputy Medical Director and Director of Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Processing Program at the Canadian Blood Center, Toronto, Canada (1989-1992), Director of Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation Program and Consultant Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (1992-1996), Head Section of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (1998-2000), Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (2000-2006), Assistant Deputy Chief Operating Officer and Medical and Clinical Operations (2001-2005) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Medical Director (2000-2008) at King Fahad National Center for Children’s Cancer& Research, Deputy Executive Director (2005-2008) at Medical and Clinical Operations at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center, Executive Director (2008-2011) at King Fahad National Center for Children’s Cancer, Executive Champion of Strategic Project: Establish and Develop World leading of Programs/ Services for KFSH&RC (2009-Present), Senior Consultant of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (2011-Present), and Executive Management Consultant International Collaboration and Development at the General Corporate Consultancy Office of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center- General Organization (2011-Present).

Dr. El Solh name appears on 76 journal publications; 37 as first/ senior author and 5 as second author. He has 55 original articles, 18 case reports, 3 letters and 1 review. Of the 37 publications as senior author, Dr. El Solh has 6 articles (2 original & 4 case reports) in refereed journals that are in the upper 25th percentile and 13 articles (11 original, 1 letter & 1 case report) in journals rank between 50-75th percentile in their respective disciplines with respect to impact factor.
